R-6.11: Citizen Science (Junior Herpetologist)

R-6.11: Citizen Science

Updated

You do not need a doctorate to help save wildlife. Scientists lead the way, but there will never be enough of them, or enough money, to do it alone. That is where you come in. Ordinary people all over the world record what they see, and that information feeds real research. Even better, most of it just means adding a few steps to things you already enjoy doing. Websites and apps like iNaturalist and HerpMapper let anyone upload a photo of an animal along with the date and place it was seen. The fieldwork in this course uses iNaturalist.

This lesson is part of Certified Junior Herpetologist. Enrollment is self-paced, with no deadline to finish (about 30 hours).
