R-6.07: Preservation Efforts

Updated

Reading about everything that threatens herps can be discouraging. That is normal. Here is what to do with the feeling: accept that the world is where it is, learn from what went wrong, and get to work on what is left. Do not let sadness over what is already lost stop you from protecting what remains. And here is the good news: you are not starting from zero. All over the world, people are already working on this, and they want help. Conservation happens at every level, from your own backyard to international treaties, and there is room for you at every one of them. What happens on the other side of the world affects us all.
