R-6.06: Systematic Eradication

Updated

Some people still kill reptiles, especially snakes, on purpose and for no reason. You probably know someone who kills every snake they see, just for being alive. Conservation Through Education exists to replace that fear with understanding and respect. One person killing a few snakes might not seem like much, but millions of people doing it adds up to an enormous amount of pointless destruction. Add habitat loss and the other pressures you have read about, and it is no surprise that snake numbers are falling. In a few places, killing snakes is turned into a public event. Some towns hold "rattlesnake roundups," which have become a big part of their yearly income.
