R-1.03: Lizards 101

Updated

Lizards come in so many shapes and sizes that it is hard to believe one word covers them all. Some lizards, like the Little Brown Skink in the United States or the Pygmy Chameleons of Africa, are so tiny that a blade of grass looks huge next to them. Others are giant hunters. Komodo Dragons take down water buffalo. Lizards live in trees, on the ground, under rocks, inside the soil, and everywhere in between. Some are active in the daytime, some at night, and some at dawn and dusk. Some switch between those depending on the season. Some have four legs. Some have two, and some have none at all, which makes them look like snakes.
