How to Think Like a Scientist (Junior Herpetologist)

How to Think Like a Scientist

Updated

You do not have to be a scientist to start thinking like one. Hi. My name is Micha Petty, and I am a Master Naturalist who specializes in herpetology. This lesson is about something I care about more than almost anything else we cover: how to think. A big part of science is learning to separate what is true from what just sounds true. In other words, questioning what you hear before you believe it. Everybody grows up with bits of "everyone knows" rattling around in their heads. That is normal, and it does not mean you are dumb. Maybe you heard that toads give you warts. Maybe you were told cottonmouths chase people.

This lesson is part of Certified Junior Herpetologist. Enrollment is self-paced, with no deadline to finish (about 30 hours).
