Reptiles get themselves into all kinds of trouble. I get calls to pull snakes out of engines, walls, swimming pool filters, bird netting, and glue traps. Where I live, the snake in trouble is usually a Western Ratsnake, because ratsnakes are excellent climbers and go exploring. You probably have a similar species near you. These animals could use more people willing to help them out of a jam. Some adults volunteer to rescue snakes so that frightened people do not kill them. It is good work, and it starts with two things that have nothing to do with catching snakes.
