Snakes are a normal part of the world outside your door. Some people find them scary, but a snake is really just an animal like any other. It wants the same things a squirrel or a bird wants: food, a safe place to hide, and a mate. Many people imagine that snakes are sneaky or evil. That is a story humans made up. Snakes are not aggressive, though they will defend themselves if they have to. Snakes get killed for no good reason all the time, and the people doing it usually do not realize they are making a mistake. Snakes are nature's pest control.
