I’ll be upfront with you—wildlife rehabilitation is not a gig any sane person would seek out. While there are a few centers that manage to get sufficient private grants or donations to keep the doors open, the vast majority of rehabbers are simply people wanting to help animals and that are willing to jump through a bunch of hurdles to do so legally. They spend time getting trained and spend their own money for supplies, medicines, and veterinary care. The government does not pay rehabilitators. Most people want you to drive to come get animals and don’t think to donate to help with gas or the costs you are taking on.
