Reptiles and amphibians are all around us. Just because we may not see them every day does not mean that we are not passing by them every time we walk outside. Many herps are masters of camouflage and are thus able to hide in plain sight. Many others whose camouflage may be less than perfect still tend to blend in with their surroundings most of the time. Most have acute senses and are fully aware of our approach long before we notice them.
