Part of Unit I: Citizen Science Databases (4 hrs total for F-1.01 & F-1.02) — Self-led Field Assignment The purpose of these assignments is to help you become a more observant, responsible, and useful participant in herpetology and conservation. THC coursework does not require you to handle, capture, restrain, collect, relocate, or keep any wild animal. Observation and documentation are enough. Follow all laws, land-use rules, closures, permits, and property restrictions that apply where you are. Get landowner permission on private property. Never handle venomous, dangerous, or unidentified wildlife for a course assignment. Minimize disturbance. Prefer in-situ photography, avoid staging animals, and replace any natural cover you move exactly and gently. Prevent disease spread.
